So I got an email advertising the above video. At first I almost didnt want to waste my time with another anti-Santa bash episode. Dont get me wrong, Jesus is indeed the center of Christmas and rightfully so. But sometimes I just get tired of hearing people complain about how bad Santa is... How commercial the holidays have become... etc.
What do you think? Has the Christmas Season lost its meaning? Or have we just gotten too caught up with it all and lost sight of where our focus ought to be?

Please Sir, I'd like some more...

There are time when I think I hate banks. Wait, scratch that. I KNOW there are time when I hate banks.
Now, I dont want to go into complainer mode for too long, but really... I mean come on, can you (bank name withheld) honestly justify charging a customer for 9 overdraft charges in 2 days? How do you sleep at night knowing you are charging someone $34 per overdraft for a purchse of $3.
And really now, when did it become ok for the bank to allow you to spend money you didnt have? I was once told, "we guaruntee to the merchant that you purchased from". Umm, hello? I AM THE CUSTOMER! I am YOUR customer. How about a little guaruntee to me? Like maybe, you wont let me buy something that I dont have money for? Now THAT sounds like the kind of banking plan I want to have.
The Bryan Style Banking Plan
- Free Online Bill Pay
- Free Email/Text Msg/Facebook notification when you are low on funds
- A Refusal Of Use when I try to use my card and my account is empty
- And Most Importantly, A Free Toaster Upon Sign Up
Yeah, Ok, I know, Im just being dramatic. But seriously, Im considering closing my account with said bank. I think its pure ridiculousness. I miss the days of true Customer Service, when my bank watched out for me and my money.
I guess thats just one more reason why growing up isn't on my list of "favorites".

King Of The Road...

Today I took a little road trip out to Giddings, TX to check out a campground with Dom. I know, Giddings, TX , doesnt seem that far away, and really, its not. But, since we had the Mustang (its a rental of course), we decided to make the most of the trip.
Now, I DO NOT recommend this type of behavior behind the wheel of a car, but man, it sure is fun to fly down those country roads at 70. Catching a little air as you go over little bumps sure makes it exciting.
But of course, once we were at the camp, I wished I had a truck. It just isnt right to drive along gravel roads in a Mustang. And thus, I conclude once again that I want a truck. A nice shiny F-150 Extended Cab truck.
So as we approach this season of gift giving, should any of you find yourselves in a position to share a gift of a $20,000+ value (say a Ford F-150), I can assure you I could find it a good home.

PS - the title for this entry stems from the 1965 Roger Miller hit, "King of the Road". See Wikipedia.

Capital P
So apparently I have too many blogs set up on this thing called the world wide web.
I have in the past 5 years managed two xangas and at least 3 blogger sites, this being the newest. And amazingly, I can't really recall the passwords to these many accounts.
Trying to remember the passwords definately reminds me of this video of John Ramsey's stand-up comedy.
